Tampa Middle Schools

I have not updated this blog but let me post my past months performances.

Young Middle School on February 15

The Young Middle School is a magnet school specialized with Math & Science. I was very excited to show new origami application to science or hi-tek world of today. I'm fascinated with ancient stories to combine with new origami and masks I make. Thank you so much for having me in your program!

Franklin Middle School on February 18

The students have read "Sadako and 1,000 Paper Cranes". Then they made origami crane and Haiku to go with. Just in case you don't know about the story, "Sadako and 1,000 Paper Cranes" is about a Japanese girl who wished world peace and tried to make 1,000 paper cranes because in Japan we say that if you fold 1,000 paper crane, your wish would come true. Haiku is a traditional Japanese poem style which consists of 17 syllables or the form of 5-7-5 syllable in 3 lines. I saw the students' work on the wall. It was BEAUTIFUL!
